Are Exposed Electrical Wires Dangerous?
Those wires that are used for electrical distribution should not be bare or exposed. If exposed, they can be very dangerous and can cause electrocution, fire hazards, and faulty operation or even violate operation code in some areas.
Exposed wires are usually those that are already damaged and if electrical power is still flowing through them then people need to treat them with a lot of caution.
Exposed electric wires are a number one cause of electrical fire hazards. This is because these wires are incapable of regulating power flow and in most cases, electronics using such wires end up overheating.
As the heat builds up inside the appliance, its outer body becomes hot too, to the point of setting anything close to it on fire.
Electrical fires
They are usually powerful and could therefore affect an entire office or building and anyone that is in it.
If you are using damaged and exposed electrical wires, you might experience serious electrical issues that could cause severe damage to your equipment. The damaged wires might for instance cause intermittent flow of power to the equipment.
This might generate very strong spikes of power that might cause widespread heat damage to the inner, most sensitive parts of electrical equipment.
If you are using exposed computer wires for instance, you might end up with damaged drives or chips.
If the wires are greatly damaged, they might not allow enough power to the equipment and this will also damage your appliances.
Severe damage
The severe damage incurred in both cases will be very expensive to fix.
Touching an exposed electrical wire is also very dangerous. You might end up with a severely burned skin or even dead through electrocution.
It is even more dangerous trying to handle such wires especially when they are still connected to the main power source.
