Hello ! / Hola ! / Bonjour !
I am so happy to participate in Jo's Neighboorhood around the world series.
Each day we visit a different location around the world to have a little view around the neighbourhood.
Today it is my turn.
I tried to follow the rules: so we had to take 8 pictures in portrait, and we had to include at least
- a post box
- a local store/cornershop
- a manhole cover
- a park/play area
- a view of a typical street
- local form of transport
Here we go...

Spanish mail box / boite aux lettre espagnole
A local store, it's a bakery: "hay pan" litteraly means "there is bread"
A manhole cover / electricity company
Une plaque d'égout / compagnie électricité
Our local play area. Behind is a protected archeological site
Notre air de jeu. Derrière les grilles, un site archéologique.
A view of a typical street: streets are narrow and building high
in order to have maximum shade
TAXI, A local form of transport. We have lots of buses but Taxis are
so cheap that we use them often
Taxis locaux.
Our beach: we have volcanic sands, big waves and sometimes jellyfish

Our lovely street signs are all designed like this
(top right corner is the island symbol: the Guanche icon of fertility)
I hope you had fun visiting our neighbourhood ![]()
